Hi! I wanted to say that I absolutely love your nail art and the little details that you put into it. I was wondering how long it would take to do on average a picture so complicated on one nail... Thanks -Emilie
Thanks so much! More complicated images can take some time, especially portraits. I think the longest I have spent on a nail design is probably 3 to 4 hours. Normally I can do a mani with nail art in about an hour and a half.
Hi, you do really intricate and detailed nail art, do you use nail polish or just normal craft paint? I do nail art (not half as good as yours!) but find that I easily run out of expensive nail polishes so I'm trying to find a cheaper alternative! Any suggestions? Thanks :)
I paint my nails first with regular nail polish, then use acrylic paints for the actual art. I use a very small nail art brush (Winning Nails Nail Art Brush size 306 from Sally Beauty Supply) and thin the acrylic paint with water. The acrylic paint I use is the inexpensive kind you can find at Michael’s Crafts and Walmart, like CraftSmart and Americana brands. They usually sell for less than 2 dollars per tube. These will last a LONG time. Check out the FAQ section on my blog at SonomaNailArt for more information and to see my tools. Thanks so much and have fun!
Do you use nail pens? If you do - what make are they? thanks xxx love your designs.
I use nail art brushes, not pens. My nail art is primarily done with acrylic paint and I find that a small brush from Sally’s Beauty Supply works really well. Check out my FAQ link here for specifics on my nail art tools. Thanks for your kind words!
